Today is the last day of Art and Music month and I had the pleasure of attending, participating and enjoying the vibes at a wide variety of festivals and community events.

My favorite festivals and events that I particularly enjoyed the most include Dance Africa 09, Juneteenth Celebration, Smithsonian Folklife Festival, and Drum and Dance Circle Gatherings.

Each of these events allowed me to connect with other professional artists and entertainers, as well as those alike.

Celebrating and preserving art and culture is very crucial.

I believe that both art and music depicts a dual relationship. Furthermore, art and music are important expression of life that documents the thoughts, experiences, and traditions of an individual.

If you have not been touched by someone's art or music, then perhaps, your spirit is not connected with the  other part of your brain which engage and enhance the tool for healing the mind, body and spirit.

Let's not just celebrate art and music in June, but throughout our daily lives to embrace, educate and uplift mainstream society!
